Standard Terms (Shipper's Dictionary)

This little blurb is for words that I'll often use in my blog. When you further read on, you'll see a comparison of the actual meaning verses my meanings.

"Dictionary" definition:
(The dictionary is in quotation because it's the official use according to urban.dictionary and fandom.)

  • Canon: It's official in the show, book or movie. This is what is happening and what has happened.
  • Fanon: Widely accepted by the fandom as something that is canon.
  • OTP: One True Pairing. People who are perfect together and exist for each other.
  • BrOTP: Similar to OTP, it is the one true pairing of brotherhood and friendship.
  • OT3: One True Threesome. May be interpretted in the little sense of a threesome or a brotherhood.
  • NOtp: Essentially the opposite of an OTP. A pairing one thinks will not work together.
  • Crack ship: An unusual relationship of any kind of fandom (i.e. books, television shows, movies, ect.) that is unlikely to happen. In fact a person must be on crack to even support such a relationship.
  • Ghost ship: A Ship that you once supported and perhaps still do that went down in the ocean, drowning all on board (basically, a hopeless relationship)
  • UST: Unresolved Sexual Tension

  • Canon: Shit I often don't like. With few instances where I do like.
  • Fanon: Shit I do like. All day, everyday.
  • OTP: Oh The Pain. Causes my nauseous, heartache and headache. Makes me weep unconditionally.
  • BrOTP: A friendship that is just too good to not ship.
  • OT3: I will always, always mean threesome. Sex threesome. Yup.
  • NOtp: That's that shit I don't like, won't like, will never like.
  • Crack ship: 99% of my ships. Often better than canon ships
  • Ghost ship: My abandoned ships. Essentially something unforgivable must have happened to prevent me from ever shipping them again.
