Emma Morley and Dexter Mayhew are characters from David Nicholls' novel 'One Day.' Firstly, I would like to say that this book completely ruined me as it was so beautifully written and I get wicked sad whenever I think about it. Emma and Dex have been going to university together since forever and they never actually meet until graduation day. The entire novel landscapes their friendship on one day, July 15th. So basically what I'm saying is this book is clearly meant to give you pain. Everyone knew that they were the couple that belonged together because it was Emma and Dex.
There were an emotional ride. I was so invested in this couple. Dex's mother always knew that Emma was the one for him. When Dex insulted Emma and she told him that they couldn't be friends anymore, my poor shipper heart. Like my pain knew no bounds an I wanted to throw my book and laptop across the room. He got married and had a kid, but there was only one person for him and that's Emma fucking Morley. I just have lots of feels for this couple.
SHE MADE HIM DECENT AND IN RETURN HE MADE HER SO HAPPY.
Mind you, Dex was a total asshole most of the time and Emma made some pretty fucked up choices, but I believe that what they needed was each other and that's why they were so fucked up before they finally got together. BUT of course anything I ship is toxic as fuck and Emma Morley died. AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA (I laugh to hide my tears) RIP Emma Morley-Mayhew.
